Abstract
A solution for the focal mechanism of the earthquake tangible in Crimea on July 2, 1990, $\rm 0^{h}35^{m}50.9^{s}$, $M_{w}= 4.25$, is described. Resetting the accumulated stresses occurred under the influence of horizontal compression forces. The type of a slip at the focus is thrust-fault with a predominance of the thrusting component. The strike of nodal planes NP1 $(STK= 93^\circ)$ coincides with a latitudinal orientation of the major axis of the first isoseist $(Az= (90^\circ \pm 5)^\circ)$. The values of seismic moment, radius of dislocation, and other focal parameters are defined more accurately with regard for the radiation directivity from the focus and the reinterpretation of station amplitude spectra. Parameters of the hypocenter are estimated by macroseismic data.
